Trip to Drews Pond Wood

On Wednesday 3rd June Owls and Squirrels will be heading off to Drews Pond Wood for a science walk.Please make sure the children have a coat and suitable footwear in school. We will be leaving at 12.45, and we aim to be back in time for the end of the day at 3.00pm.

We will be able to collect Beat the Street points too so please make sure your child has their fob in school. It would be helpful if the fob could be attached to something such as a brightly coloured ribbon  or a lanyard so we don't have too many lost in the undergrowth! Thank you

Celebration assembly

There were lots of golden stickers this week. Well done to Annabelle, Clark, Freddie, Ben, Jack P, Heidi, Carra, Rosie, Lauren, Oliver, Olivia, Harry, Paris, Charlie, Jamie, Charlie, Paris, Chloe and Shanae.

Jack P was presented with a book for all his great reading at home and Charlie received his certificate for fantastic learning in ICT. 

We were also pleased to hear about how Ollie has just taken part in the Martial Arts  South Championship in front of two hundred people. 

Well done to all of them.

We have been looking at our bean investigation and drawing our conclusions. Ask them what we found out.

This week there were golden stickers for Annabelle, Clark, Harry and Ben. Jack D was presented with a certificate for fantastic learning in ICT.

There were also the first prizes from 'Beat the Street'  and the lucky winners were Carra and Clark. Keep swiping your card to be in with a chance of winning! Well done to everyone .

V E day

Today we have been thinking about the 70th anniversary of the end of World War Two. The morning started with an assembly where we learnt about what life was like during the war and then we wrote about what our lives would have been like then. Ask the children what we found out.

During the afternoon we had a party. We did the Hokey Cokey and the Conga to music from 70 years ago! We then went to the hall and after singing the national anthem we enjoyed party food.

There were golden stickers this week for excellent homework for Alfie, Annabelle, Carra, Clark, Heidi, Jamie, Jess, Josh. Lauren, Oliver and Serenity. There were book marks for lovely reading at home for Alfie and Ollie.

Not Van Gogh's sunflowers!

To tie in with our growing plants topic we have painted some sunflowers...... not in the style of Van Gogh, but in Owls style! We are thrilled with the results. Come in and see our display in the long corridor.

Numeracy morning

This morning we had a great time sharing numeracy activities with children from year 3 and 4 at Southbroom St Janes Academy. The children were fantastic and we were very proud of them. Thank you to Miss Merritt for organising the event and the staff and children who made us feel very welcome.

Children in Avebury and Silbury were excited to get some extra play time as their houses have both reached two hundred points.
