CARNIVAL!!!

We have reached that wonderful time of year again where we are starting to plan our 2015 carnival entry.

As you know we have won the schools section of the carnival and the the overall carnival prize two years in a row so it is time to get creative again and start costume making.

Once again we will be partnering with Southbroom ST James Academy. Our theme this year is 'All At Sea' I am sure like me you will have lots of ideas here are a few to get you excited.

If you would like to be involved in the planning process of carnival we will be meeting at Southbroom St James Academy on Thursday 30th April at 3:30. This will be a time for us to share ideas and make decisions about costumes and timings of workshops.

Carnival is a great experience for children and it enables them to get involved in the local community but most of all it is fabulous fun. A letter will be on its way to you soon with further details about what costumes we will be making and the times of workshops and how carnival will be made amazing once again.

If you were in the carnival last year please keep Saturday 27th June free as we have been invited to go to the Isle of Wight carnival more details to follow soon.

So get your crafty hats on and start to get excited for CARNIVAL 2015

Growing a beanstalk

We thought that if Jack could grow a beanstalk then we could too. We are investigating what conditions beans need to grow. Ask the children how we made this a fair test. Which beans do you think will grow?

Story box theatre

The children loved today's  performance of 'The three little pigs' and all agreed that Rod was very clever! Ask them which part made them laugh most!

What do know about plants?

Today we started thinking about how the beanstalk grew in the story. We talked about what we know about plants. Then we looked carefully at some examples and labelled the parts of a plant. Finally we came
up with some questions about what we would like to find out.
