Over and Out!

What a busy year we have had! The children have worked so hard and deserve a good rest. Thank you for all your support and for the gifts and cards.

We wish you a very happy summer holiday.

Good luck to all the children as they embark on the next stage of their lives. We look forward to catching up them all in the future.

Disco fun

We had a great time! Thank you to FOSI for organising.

Cooking Damper On A Campfire (Or Four).

The owls made damper bread this morning and we cooked it this afternoon. Lots of very smoky, smelly children but almost everyone stuffed their faces!

DSSN Awards Evening

Last night we attended the DSSN PE Awards Evening with our Year 2 nominees. Congratulation to all the children who won special awards and a special congratulations to Mrs Fishlock who won the 'most improved teacher' award!
We are so proud of everyone's achievements!

Celebration assembly

There were golden stickers this week for Ashton and Shanae. Heidi and Oliver were presented with books for all their great reading at home.
We also celebrated the children who were winners at the Devizes School Sports awards last night. In our class this was Oliver and Louie. Well done everyone.

Summer Reading Challenge- Record Breakers

William from the library came to show us this year's Summer Reading Challenge. It is based around Record Breakers, as the Guinness Book of Records is 60 yrs old this year.

Every child who does it will be congratulated in an assembly at either Southbroom school.

Bushcraft Morning

Owls did shelter building, using a saw, using a knife, battoning to split wood and fire-lighting. We finished off with the obligatory marshmallows. This afternoon we went on to have a mini-football tournament with Jade, and I taught them some golf!

If they are a bit moody....it's because they have had a full-on day. They have behaved very maturely all day. Tomorrow we are making damper bread and cooking it on an open fire around sticks. We might also try to bake bread in a dutch oven. Fingers crossed!
